Climate Change .. An Islamic perspective

Today is 15th of October. It's not just a normal day, but it's the day when more than 7,000 blogs are going to unite their efforts to talk about only one subject .. Climate Change. It's Blog Action Day.

As a religious blog, I must talk about the subject as a religious blog. I'll do all my best to reveal the perspective of Islam about protecting surrounding environment..

Reading the 41th verse of the 30th Chapter in Qur'an we can notice that Qur'an is paying our attention to the essential subject of Environmental Pollution being caused by the hands of human themselves..
"Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of (the meed) that the hands of men have earned, that ((Allah)) may give them a taste of some of their deeds: in order that they may turn back (from Evil)."

In another verse, we can see an obvious confirmation that God created nature in a perfect balance among all its factors, that we must keep that balance..
"And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance." 15:19

When we follow the sayings of prophet Muhammad we can find out all his invitations encouraging all members of Islamic community to spread the trees, reclaim the desert lands..

Allah's Apostle said, "There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him." Sahih Bukhari

The Prophet said, "He who cultivates land that does not belong to anybody is more rightful (to own it)." Sahih Bukhari

On the other side, we can also find out when we follow the verses of Qur'an and sayings of the prophet the continuous confirmation to keep the resources of nature and to use them in a balanced way away from any extravagance..

In verses 26 and 27 in the 17th chapter we can find that Qur'an is confirming that we should keep our resources, and not to waste them..
".. But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. * Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful." 17:26, 27

In chapter 6, verse 141 we can find the verse paying our attention to the nature, ending with an inhibition to waste the products of nature..
"It is He Who produceth gardens, with trellises and without, and dates, and tilth with produce of all kinds, and olives and pomegranates, similar (in kind) and different (in variety): eat of their fruit in their season, but render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered. But waste not by excess: for Allah loveth not the wasters." 6:141

In another verse we can see a direct inhibition to mischief on earth that has been reformed..
"Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil o'er the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds! * .. * Do no mischief on the earth, after it hath been set in order, but call on Him with fear and longing (in your hearts): for the Mercy of Allah is (always) near to those who do good." 7: 54, 56

It's recorded too in the books of Sunnah, that the prophet inhibited extravagance in using water even when on the side of a river.

Islamic perspective of protecting environment depends on the following points;
a) Respecting Nature.
b) Keeping The Natural Resources From Wasting And Misuse.
c) Increasing The Amount Of Trees.
d) Increasing The Suitable Lands For Agriculture Through Encouraging Reclaiming Dead Lands.

If governments of the world followed that Islamic protocol, the world will be a better and safer place.

There is no time to waste to save our planet.

Soon earth will suffer from floods because of the polar ice melting, coastal cities around the world will sink, green trees will decrease because of the massacres against forests, there are forthcoming wars because of the predicted lake of freshwater.

Every effort is needed to save the world. Every individual of us must make his family and friends aware of the forthcoming danger, and all the available methods to face it.

The Earth will be fine. NO floods, no lost coastal cities, except some part of New Orleans, which is already below sea level.

I have no idea why so many nitwits believe the crazy claim of Global Warming nuts.

First, if the temperature of the planet rises a degree or two, a lot of the water from melting polar ice will evaporate into the atmosphere. That will lead to more water for rain, and the added rain will improve and lengthen the growing seasons for crops around the world.

Maybe rain will fall on the Rub al Khali -- the Empty Quarter -- in Saudi Arabia. Maybe rain will fall on Somalia and on the Sahara and the Kalahari.

Stupid people who believe the sky is falling are tricked by the silly claims from ignorant people about the impact of minor climate changes.

The World's Greatest Weather Scientists know more about cyclical
changes in the earth's ever-changing weather patterns. They have the charts, plots and diagrams.

Apparently, these changes are most often caused by solar activity (sunspots) that effect the ever-changing ocean currents to a wide degree unknown, until recently!

Senator Al Gore, of Tennessee, had two million dollars when he vacated the U.S. Senate. Then he invented a phony world calamity by promoting his book filled with semi-scientific data, hopped around in his private jet on scary lecture tours...now he has at least 100,000,000 dollars!

He's a fraud, his book has no credibility, and if I LIE, he can Sue Me In A U.S. Court of Law!

We are now entering a "cooling trend"! Do you believe that? Is an 'Ice Age' just around the corner? Well...Who can say?

A wise man once gave me this advise: "If you don't know, Then, Say You Don't Know!" reb

Question: Why Are We Talking About
Climate Change?
>
On October 7th, you posted your finest effort with - Muslims & Christians.."A Common Word"...with only 7 Comments allowed, ending on October 11th!!

Then you switched on Oct 13th to "Women's Hijab (scarf)...then on Oct 15th to CLIMATE CHANGE!!!

That's Very Strange, Mohamed.

On September 20th you posted "Jews..Enemies or Friends", allowed it to run for 16 Days, with
65 Comments!

It's Behavior Such As This that allows some people to think that Perhaps Mohamed Is Not Sincere.

Is Climate Change & Head-Gear More
Important than Dr. Ali Gomaa?

The biggest Climate Question of the day is this: What Happened to Global Warming?

There has been NO increase in global temperatures for the last Decade. Ten Years.

Meanwhile, there is always a market for Doom & Gloom predictions.

Since roughly 1800, when the population of the world was 1 Billion, well regarded leaders have predicted global famine and mass death due to food shortages.

Thomas Malthus, famous British economist, got the ball rolling around 1800, predicting the world was on the brink of a period of mass starvation.

Today the global population is 6.8 billion and in many parts of the world, like the US, we have an obesity problem.

The only places in the world where food is in short supply are places with tyrannical and corrupt governments. The problem is almost mainly a problem for the nations of Africa. But North Korea, under the thumb of its insane leader, is suffering too.

Though there is no starvation in Cuba, food supplies are tight. That's no surprise since the Castro brothers fear the effects of developing a fishing industry, which would put boats in the hands of people who would set a course for Florida.

Today, possibly billions of people stupidly believe the climate is about to become a threat to life as we know it.

For a couple of centuries the big worry boiled down to over-population and food shortages. Science, agriculture, democracy and capitalism combined to solve that problem.

Then various fears about energy shortages began to arise. Around 1970 forecasters began predicting the point we would consume our last drop of oil.

We have passed many of the dates that were offered. According to a lot of experts from the 1970s, we should have burned all the world's oil by now. Ooops.

Once again, science, oil-field technology, democracy and capitalism have combined to improve our energy future.

However, on the other hand, politics has impaired our access to energy. First, we can displace a lot of natural gas by building nuclear plants to produce electricity. Second, we can drill for oil and gas in more places in the US. Like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And in our coastal waters.

And we can build more efficient energy-consuming devices.

Bottom line -- threats to energy have no connection to actual reserves.

Sadly, people like Al Gore understand that creating hysteria over an abstract issue is a great way to gain leadership power and make a few bucks.

Gore and others have succeeded. Wildly. There is NO talk about the good side of slightly higher global temperatures. Like more fresh drinking water. Fresh water is something every human needs.

In the US we have developed outstanding water resources. On the other hand, Africa has none. Consequently, each year 5 MILLION people contract diseases from dirty water and DIE.

Why? Bad government. That is the only reason. Bad government. Guess what? Islam is spreading rapidly around the African continent. Hence, improvement is almost impossible.

Tell all this to the people of Iowa. After our recent flood, bugs came out of nowhere. Black mold and acid rain is strong in the heartland. It will affect crops.

The your heart will be pining for the old days, when food was less expensive and easier to get.

Changing crop production is very expensive. It may have to happen if bugs multiply too rapidly and DDT remains on the toxic, do not use list.

Good Day.

Reb, how could anyone sue you when you hide behind anonymity?

Funny how you and your hateful buddies are so protective of your identities. What are you ashamed of? Mahomed is quite open about who he is, so am I.

Come out of the closet Reb, into the sunlight!

Sunlight, rory? I've spent 28 years
in the Mojave Desert soaking up more healthy rays than you'll ever in your lifetime hope to see from that barstool, soaking up pints at your favorite Pub.
Go home, and feed your poor dog!

Such inane drivel. reb
